Thanks for visiting my youtube channel, most of the videos you will see here at taken at various Model Engineering clubs and mostly feature individual Locomotives owned by friends, or that i have been given the opportunity to drive. Some older videos are taken during my childhood whilst out "Trainspotting" with my Grandad who got me into the hobby at a very young age, i hope you enjoy the videos and would appreciate Likes, Favours and Shares. Thanks for watching.

Here we have a brand new 5 inch gauge Prairie "Firefly" numbered 4555 at The Steam Workshop, in this video this was the loco's first ever fire, so doing the steam test we do an accumulation test to make sure the safety valve blows at the correct pressure, 90psi, and that it doesnt go above that pressure and the safety valves release enough pressure and drops, we also test the axle pump and inje...

Very impressive, especially the work at short cut off!
Currently on SRS £5750. ua-cam.com/video/Sqf8HK606yI/v-deo.html A comment of simplified walschaerts gear?
Great!!!
What a stunner
Is this railway still there?
There are barley any BR A3 at 5 inch, i plan on making Scotsman
What a lovely Loco and Track. Reminds me of my days as a lad driving Pop's 2.5"ga loco.
Wow that's alot of power!
I would love to see you go all round that layout
Well, seven years after publishing this movie, I'm going to say how much I've enjoyed watching and listening to this masterpiece of the model engineer's art! It's nothing less than drop-dead gorgeous - I could listen to that exhaust beat all the day long. Thank you, Mr Nivens, better late than never!
That is Luke From Blue Mountain Mystery
That looks like the Wren 'Grace'.
Just sold again by SRS.
Which club is this?
Thats a very sweet running locomotive thnx for posting
bahamas recently swapped identities with 5606
Hi Lee, a long shot I know but are you still running this as I aquired her sister loco Gravesend about a year ago, just wondered how you were getting along with it?
that rod knock sounds awful, needs sorting
Moved from this site a few years ago
Super locomotive with nature
My Dad told me about a miniature line in Caley Park but I’ve never seen any footage or reference as to where it was.
I wonder if the smoke deflectors work ?
helpful, thinking about getting a simplex
When you go home, take a look at your TV set - maybe that will give you a clue as to how to hold the phone when making a video. Unless, of course, you have it mounted upright on the wall!
Wow
This loco has just re-surfaced in Australia. Work is in hand to get the boiler registered for Australian use and get her running again.
I know where this engine is now and after a winter in the workshop, it runs like a sewing machine.
class 3 valve events sound bit odd, sounds like it has 1 good crisp beat & then one soft all the time, almost sounds as if it's 2 beats per revolution instead of 4 with it having every second one sounding soft, don't know why this would be
Wanna sell it? Look no further Ye got me😝
Lovely, great video! Nice sound
For some reason, I love this videos so much and can't stop watching again and again. This engine is just marvelous!
if the real one can't run, make a miniature. It'll do
Did you let jay foreman kick this?
Strong exhaust beat.
Wow looks identical to Oliver from the great western railroad in Thomas the tank engine
Lovely engine!
Excellent photography....
I used to hate these Bullied locos. Thought they were ugly as bloody hell. Then I heard Donald the old S&D driver talk about them and how nice they were on passenger trains. It gave me a whole new view on "the lady of the species"
too much rail noise, spoils the sound of the engine working
Cool
Hi there.. Great video, but I have a question... Why does the water NEED to be cold for the injector.? What would happen if it was, let's say, boiling.? Cheers.
If the water is too hot the injector will either not work at all or very poorly.
Hi Lee, Alastair from the Strathaven Miniature Railway here - great old video - when was it shot ? Plus if you would like, and if you send me the orginal video file, I can upload it onto the SMR website as well. What do you think ? Cheers, Alastair
Hi Alastair not sure when it was taken, i dont have the original anymore, it was given to me on a disc by a chap called Stuart Oliver to upload along with the other old videos, im sure Adrian Robertson took it so he may have the original. You can share the video to the site if you wish. Lee
@@ruston165 Hi Lee, thank you for the info. I am a relatively new member of the SMR and I do not know Adrian but I am sure Ian S will. I'll pit a link on the website. Cheers, Alastair

Absolutely Stunning! My Grandad used to drive her out of crewe in the 60s! I'll have to show my dad this, Rutland has a special place in his heart. Thank you.
How powerful is this loco, how many people can this pull on riding cars
I am about to purchase a B1, so enjoyed the well filed action. Please can you tell me the name and location of the track?
This was at pembrey, llanneli, south wales
Great looking loco Lee. I've recently obtained Roedeer name and works plates for my 5 inch Springbok. Was Roedeer always green? I assume they were painted black after Nationalisation. Thanks in advance. Geoff
I like this locomotive
Hi
What track gauge is the Railroad ? Looks to me like the layout started out as a 5 inch gauge, later became the current layout - 7 inch or 00 gauge system. (notice 3 track rails, 2 rails are closely spaced together right hand side)
The crude steam fittings spoil it.
When you go that big might as well use full size steam valves, I would.
Stunning
